Welcome

Storytelling is the foundational way humans make sense of the world.

I'm a Narrative Practitioner offering storytelling sessions across three areas:

FOR CHILDREN - KIDS COMMUNITY CIRCLE:

From childhood, stories captivate us—teaching language, emotional awareness, empathy, and problem-solving. Children don’t just enjoy stories; they grow through them.

FOR ORGANISATIONS/PROFESSIONALS:

Organisations harness storytelling to communicate their mission, vision, and values, turning abstract goals into relatable narratives that inspire action and connection.

PERSONAL THERAPEUTIC STORYTELLING:

On a personal level, stories help us understand ourselves and others. They shape identity, deepen relationships, and offer meaning to our experiences.

About Me

Hello, I'm Leonie

I’m a storyteller, armed with a background in television production and a passion for weaving and unearthing narratives.

As Narrative Practitioner, I accompany others as they story their experiences.

A bit more about me:

Additional Information

I am a Narrative Practitioner, registered with the Australian Counselling Association and The Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association, with a rich background in television production and journalism. With over a decade of experience at prominent media outlets such as CNN and BBC, I have honed my skills in storytelling, interviewing, and active listening.

I hold a Master's degree in Narrative Therapy and Community Work from the University of Melbourne, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts with a specialisation in Film Production. My diverse skill set encompasses media production, public speaking coaching, and a commitment to non-judgmental communication and empathy, positioning me as a trusted guide in the narrative meaning-making process.

Passionate about the ethics of storytelling, I am dedicated to accompanying individuals as they articulate their preferred identities and navigate challenging life situations. I am particularly interested in the resonance of stories and how they can unite people, striving to document and share meaningful narratives that connect individuals.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I am a mental health ambassador with Mind HK, advocating for mental wellness and supporting individuals in their journeys towards healing. I have a special place in my heart for the stories of strength and hope that often emerge out of trauma and grief. I also teach holistic movement classes and am keenly interested in neurobiology and the nervous system, integrating these insights into my practice to foster personal growth and resilience.

I aim to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations focused on well-being and meaning-making, aspiring to support people in unearthing stories of hope. Through my work, I seek to create spaces where people can explore and share their narratives of strength and skill, reclaim their agency, and find meaning in their experiences.

As a lifelong learner, my parenting journey awakened a desire to support all children to develop to their fullest potential. Becoming a parent, inspired me to expand my expertise, and I completed the Intellidance certification, where I gained insights into best practices in developmental dance and music education for infants and young children.

I am also particularly interested in neurodiversity and the role of storytelling in fostering resilience, self-confidence, and a grounded and neuro-affirming identity among neurodivergent youth. I completed the Storytelling Schools method qualification where I learned how to use stories to assist children to develop oral communication skills and master language, two key components of verbal self-expression and meaning making.

I love to engage with parents and educators to explore ways to collectively support children's growth, respecting and honouring everyone’s unique journey and identity.
